The e-Donors service captures current blood donation needs and planned outreaches of hospital blood donation departments.

The innovation of our application is the possibility of immediate notification of users for emergencies  blood supply emergencies from Blood Donation Services.

So our application makes it easier for blood draws to when there is a need and the shelf life of the blood is finite (30 days).

  • What is our objective?

    Our aim is for those interested to be immediately informed of current needs and to contact the relevant department at the appropriate time.

  • Through an informative event held at our school by the association of volunteer blood donors of the prefecture of Rodopi and the blood donation department of the General Hospital of Komotini we found that :

    * many more road accidents than in other European countries
    * the number of people suffering from thalassemia is high
    * 75% of the population may need a blood transfusion at some point in their lives
    * only a small percentage - about 1.5% - are regular blood donors

    This means that the blood supply is not constantly renewed, so there is not enough of it. Taking all the above into account, we decided to create e-Aimodotes.

  • e-Aimodotes can integrate more hospitals to facilitate their work.
